Coffee chat

It's been a hot minute since I actually blogged, but I wanted to invite you to join my newsletter, if you haven't already joined. In addition to getting updates delivered to your inbox of new and upcoming releases and first looks at cover reveals, I also make them informative and FUN! You'll even get book/tv/movie recommendations, Q&A, what I'm working on, and I'll let you know if there is a sale.

I have been extremely busy as of late! German and French translations keep me busy with all that's involved in their formatting, cover design, release, and marketing. But I haven't let that steal away my time from the next Black Arrowhead project (And other projects!). It just means I've had less time to spend on social media. 🫩

Every so often, a reader will unsubscribe to my newsletter with the reason "I'm in KU, and your books aren't, so I don't see the point anymore." Everyone chooses to consume books the way they want, but sometimes those messages feel like they resent me for not having enrolled. To explain, as an author, I don't like the exclusivity requirement, which pulls business away from other retailers. It's purely a business decision. While I realize a subscription program is attractive, I never imagined it would be the only way a person would enjoy books. That said, I know there are many of you who subscribe and still buy my books, and I love you for that support! I know for some of you, it means waiting and saving up, but it makes me want to work harder to bring you the best stories.💞 I hope those readers eventually find their way back to my books, and on that note...

There are SO MANY options to access my titles. My audiobooks are available in libraries, where you can listen to them online. Obviously a lot of readers like buying them to own and download, but libraries can be a great budget-friendly option. I also run frequent sales. Boxed sets provide deeper discounts. And ALL of my books are in the Kobo Plus program, which is a subscription that is not only cheaper than KU, but it doesn't require authors to be exclusive. That's the type of program I want to support. I have a feeling more readers will be checking them out as an alternative with so many AI books that are flooding into Amazon.

The weather is finally warming up, and we've had pleasant days with cool breezes and plenty of pollen. 😂 The wasps are persistent in building a homestead on my patio, and I've had to demolish 4 housing developments so far. I've already killed four flowers this early in the season, but I guess that means I now have empty pots to buy more?

I hope you are finding good books to enjoy and finding peace and happiness, especially with the changing seasons. If you don't subscribe to my newsletter, you're more than welcome to join my official Facebook group. Just be sure you answered the required questions upon joining. You'll meet some really special people, many of whom have followed me from the beginning! No drama.

Until next time,
