FAQ

Q: Can I try before I buy?
A: Some retailers have a trial period when you first sign up. Others may offer one free title or a credit/discount for joining. Look at each retailer's FAQ for specific information about their audiobooks. Give it a whirl! My readers are loving the experience of both ebook and audio.

Q: What if I want CDs?
A: Check out Amazon, Tantor, or Barnes & Noble. CDs and MP3s are only available for the Mageri, Seven, and Crossbreed series. They will no longer be offered for newer books unless they are part of the series listed above. Technology is moving toward digital, and in general, CDs are becoming less popular.

Q: My Audible copy won't play. It's completely silent and I use an Android phone.

A: I have seen this issue crop up occasionally, and it has happened with one of my books where a reader's copy just didn't work anymore - it was silent when they tried playing it. Those impacted used the Audible App on their Android. If you have done the usual steps of removing the copy and redownloading or deleting your cache with no luck, keep reading. While I can't confirm this will work with other devices, try this:

Open the Audible app, remove that book download (don't permanently delete your copy; just remove the download from your device)
Go to your profile and open the gear icon for settings
Under Data and Storage if the Download quality is set to "Standard", change it to "High".
Redownload the affected book. Try to play.

If this steps resolved your issue, contact Audible and let them know there seems to be a playback issue with the standard/compressed file. Be sure to change your download setting back to Standard since High gives you the larger files, and you may not want these larger files for every book you buy. :-)

If you are having any download or listening issues with any other retailer or on any other device, reach out to that retailer and do not relent until they fix the issue!

Q: Can I put my audiobooks onto my phone, MP3, or iPOD?
A: Most of the websites that sell audiobooks have a FAQ section that will give you additional information if you are having issues.

Q: What makes audiobooks different from just reading them?
A: It's a completely different experience, the same way television and movies are from books. The narrator brings the characters to life, and even if you've read the books, you will enjoy listening to these stories come alive. Audiobooks are also great for those who commute by car/train and need something to kill the time, for those who like to listen to something while working out, and provide the simple convenience of being able to "read" a book while multitasking. Those who have vision impairment or reading challenges can also indulge in their love of books.

Q: Why can't there be a narrator for each character?
A: Not many books do this because a number of production costs, schedules, and (if not done well) they don't always flow seamlessly. You will more often see two narrators on a romance book where the H/h are both told in first person. The majority of audiobooks have one narrator. Once you immerse yourself into a good story, it won't be something you think about.

Q: Where can I listen to samples?
A: Scroll back up. Samples are provided. If for some reason you're not able to see them on your device, you should be able to click on the links to Tantor, Audible, or Amazon and listen to samples there.

Q: Can I preorder audiobooks?
A: Once the preorder option is made available, you can preorder the audiobook of your choice.

Q: Will all your books be available on audio?
A: I will try to make this possible for all fiction novels. There may be books which are currently not available. I will keep you updated of any new releases on my newsletter and here.

Q: Why isn't your book Whispersynced on Audible?
A: All of my books should have Whispersync, but sometimes a new release will have a delay. It's an automated process on their end that usually occurs days or weeks after a book release Try emailing Audible. They are more likely to whispersync a book if they receive requests from listeners like you!
