Four Days: Cover Reveal

I'm very excited to present the cover for FOUR DAYS! I've often told readers with my writing "Expect the unexpected", and that goes for my covers as well.

More information below, as well as an excerpt. Search for bloggers on the net and Facebook who are involved in my cover reveal, because they have a different excerpt.  :)

Four Days (Seven Series #4)

Ivy believes every life must have balance, and during the past year, she’s found harmony living with the Weston pack. When an evil spirit from her past threatens her wolf, it sets off a chain reaction of events that alters the course of her destiny.

Lorenzo Church is a powerful, wealthy Packmaster who rules his pack through intimidation and order. He has vowed to never love a woman because love can destroy an empire. But chaos is fast approaching in the form of a Shifter named Ivy—a Native American, like him, who has invaded his dreams since the moment they met. She is spirited, wise, and unattainable.

In an unexpected turn of events, Ivy must choose whether or not to let go of the one person she has always loved. Lorenzo discovers the root of her courage but will never win her as his mate unless he learns to listen to his heart.

Destiny will find you

So the most glaring difference is that we finally have a woman on the cover (woot!). I'm not writing a conventional paranormal romance, so it makes sense that the covers embody the character. Actually, the one who gets the cover is a Weston pack member, since this family is who the story centers around. I've been doing my best to locate models who best represent my characters, but still encourage readers to let their imaginations run wild. ;-)

THE SEVEN SERIES takes place in the same world as the Mageri series (I call it all the "mageri universe"), and is an expansion of it. I'm getting frequent messages and emails from readers who were reluctant to read the Seven series, but quickly fell into the stories. It's a different sub genre than urban fantasy, but what drew readers to my writing will still be found with this new series.

Add it to your Goodreads shelf HERE. Remember, you can recommend books to your Goodreads friend on each book page.

Due to spoilers, I've had to snip a lot out.

"It tackles the duality in people. Two sides of us that conflict, or where one is hidden."

"If you want to torture your readers, you can tell them you made your editor cry and have to take a break."

"Another woah moment mixed with a Squeeee!!!!

"I was blown away, but so happy at the same time. That could not have been a better situation. I'm still getting chills."

"She has been the most relatable protagonist yet in this series. She has quiet strength with a pragmatic approach. I can't commend you enough for giving her life and personality..."

"Holy. Shit. I love you, Dannika Dark. You are a goddess of paranormal romance! I literally shouted at the computer screen."

"And the ending, damn it moved me."

Lorenzo reached out and stroked my cheek. “When we first met, you were but a flowering vine swinging from the tree I found you in, trying to cling to anyone who would hold you.”
I brushed his hand away and drew back. “You are no better than my father, comparing me to a poisonous vine. I am not the desperate woman you make me out to be, and I have no need to cling to anyone but those who love me. I will not hold on to a great oak, because as magnificent as it may be, it will never hold me back. My family holds me with their kind words and love, and that is all a Shifter can ask for. What is it you want, Lorenzo? To question the integrity of my Packmaster? We’re better off within the city. There are places to take refuge, those who might help us, and…”
Through my powerful speech, Lorenzo cracked a smile. It was slight at first, but it became wide and he flashed his teeth at me.
I had begun to turn away when Lorenzo captured my wrist and tugged me against him. His arm slid around my lower back in a claiming gesture. He cupped the nape of my neck with his other hand, and before I could protest, Lorenzo rubbed noses with me.
In the middle of a crowded club.
“Such a spirited wolf you have,” he growled.
“What do you want of me?”
He drew in a breath, as if taking in my scent. “Don’t you want to be my friend?”
“A man like you doesn’t make friends—he makes enemies.”
Lorenzo kissed me hard, his tongue slipping so deep that my legs quivered. Then he drew back and rubbed noses again. “I can do friendship. Sunday night. Checkers. My place.” He pressed his lips to my ear and seduced me with whispers. “I can’t get you out of my head. These men leer at you in a way that makes me want to lose control. You need protection.”
“My pack protects me,” I said, forgetting the crowd around us as we held each other close.
“Will they protect you with their bodies as I will with mine?”
I tried to create distance between us. “Actions speak louder than words, and nothing but honey drips from your mouth.”
He chuckled darkly. “Your sharp tongue and wise words make my wolf sing.”

How to receive updates

Facebook seems to be a very popular place for people to seek me out, and I strongly encourage readers to like my public page HERE

However, even if you subscribe, less than 10% (even less than that) of subscribers will see my posts on their newsfeed. Facebook blocks them. Why? They want me to pay them money per post. Even then, not all my subscribers will see it. Seems crazy that you aren't allowed to see the posts from a page you subscribe to.

I'm currently having random winter giveaways on my page. I've also posted links to the Seven Years papaerback giveaway on Goodreads. Did you see that? Mayhap you didn't.

This is so frustrating for authors who want to keep in touch with readers. So here are TIPS:

1. Add my page to your interests or favorites. HOVER your mouse over the LIKED button and select "Add to Interests" and "Get notifications". On the left side of your newsfeed you'll see INTERESTS on that long menu, and once you've added my page I should appear there. From that point, you can hover your mouse over the little mechanical wheel on the left and add my page to your FAVORITES, which bumps me to the top of that lefthand menu.

Don't wait for Facebook to show you my posts; just come visit me as often as you can. I get so many readers who miss out on important announcements, cover reveals, sales, or giveaways because they didn't see the posts on their newsfeed. Most probably won't, so pretend I'm your BFF, and instead of waiting for an invitation, just swing by my place.

 2. Like, Share, Comment on my posts. You may be wondering why I'm always asking you to do this, but there is a reason! This tells the little gremlins that you are interested in my page and they'll be more likely to continue showing my posts on your newsfeed. This also helps the visibility of that post with other readers. So, SO important, because I want to share them with as many of my readers as possible, and you are a big part of helping with that.

Most importantly, subscribe to my newsletter HERE.
Those who subscribe get updates on SALES, RELEASE DATES, EARLY SNEAK PEEKS, and other important announcements or even release date changes. I don't send these frequently, only when something important is going on.

To avoid my newsletters from going to spam (because yeah, that happens too), simply add the email in the "from" field on your confirmation (or newsletters you've received) to your whitelist (address book/contact list). Even if you've received my updates before, your server could go all blinky and start tossing me in the bad bin. That tells your email server I'm a friend. I'd still recommend checking your spam/promotional folders every so often. If I accidentally end up there, move me into the inbox before deleting the message. Deleting it in the spam folder tells your server to send my future emails there.

All this work just to stay in touch with you guys.

You can also follow me on Twitter HERE because my facebook posts will feed over. I'm not overly active on twitter, but it's a great alternative to actually seeing all my Facebook posts!

I have a cover reveal for FOUR DAYS coming on Nov 19, but those subscribed to my newsletter will get it early.

If you want to talk about the books or new release, swing by the MAGERI DISCUSSION FORUM on Facebook. This group is for all things Dannika Dark (Seven series/Mageri series, etc)
Please avoid posting any spoilers on new releases (usually a separate event is set up for those who are done reading it so the entire group doesn't get spoiled).

So, in a nutshell, here are all the ways you can either stay in touch with me or receive updates.

It's been a while since I've posted an update, and I know not everyone who reads my website follows me on Facebook.

So, here are some updates!

FOUR DAYS COVER REVEAL: Coming Nov 19 - next Wednesday! However, those who are signed up for my newsletter will see it and read the synopsis before everyone else. So be sure you are signed up HERE.

FOUR DAYS RELEASE DATE: Coming December 16. Just a reminder for anyone who missed the announcement last month. Those on my newsletter will receive direct links emailed right to your inbox! Reviews posted mean so, so much, and I hope you take a second to support Four Days by writing a review. :)

NEWSLETTER REMINDER: I say this a lot, but sometimes my updates might end up in your spam/promotional folders. When you sign up (or locate a previous newsletter), add the email address in the FROM field to your whitelist (address book/contact list). Check your spam folders (you might need to locate them under another sub folder) regularly. If my mail ever ends up there, move it to your inbox before deleting so you can tell your email system not to do that again. :) I have no control over what your mail server might do with my mail, so I'm just offering some tips!

GIVEAWAYS: I'll be hosting giveaways on my Facebook page (and possibly newsletter) throughout this winter. This is just my way of saying thanks, having fun, and sharing swag with true fans of these books.

WHAT I'M WORKING ON: I'm currently writing the first draft of another Seven Series novel. I'm also doing edits on other projects as well. My current goal is to work on a Mageri world novel for my next project, and what you can expect from me after the Seven series is an urban fantasy romance (Similar to what you've come to love about the Mageri series). I have Mageri fans and Seven fans, and I hope each will give my other books a chance. You might be surprised at what you're missing out on and how these worlds overlap. But I do tend to write both paranormal romance and urban fantasy to make sure all my readers are happy. :-)

SEVEN YEARS AUDIOBOOK: Seven Years is now available in audiobook on Tantor, Audible, Amazon and elsewhere. A lot of fans (including those who never listened to audiobooks before) are having fun experiencing the Mageri and Seven series books for the first time all over again through audio. Compare prices and check them out! Six Months and Five Weeks will be released this year (Check out my WIP page for the dates)

I may be missing some other news, but that's all that springs to mind at the moment. I've been very busy with ongoing projects, as well as breaking in a new laptop.

Stay warm!
