Justus again?

I'm not really big on releasing spoilers about the next book. I love the surprise of going in with a fresh mind and not having any any idea what to expect. I spent all last night writing a chapter and now I'm exhausted.

Here's a clue to what I am up to:

Okay, I'm evil. ;-)

I'm probably about 18% in and it's going pretty good. There are some necessary changes and rewrites due to a few plot twists that will trickle over into the next book. This will be the longest edit because of that, and each subsequent draft will be polishing it up.

I woke up early this morning and pulled out that old Vampire novel I keep talking about. You know, the one I chucked away - lock and key - in a virtual file drawer to be forgotten about. I wanted to read the scenes I wrote with Justus. Of course, his character changed somewhat. The funny part is I gave it a working title, and it was "Ghuardians", but in this book, the word had an entirely different meaning. They were protectors of something very ancient. Someday I might revisit the idea, because some of the details were really interesting, just not fleshed out. But here's an excerpt:

He stood in front of her with a warm smile spreading across his face as his heavily tattooed hand stroked a white cat. “I’m Justus”, he said.

Maybe someday the pieces with lock together with that one and I'll be able to write that story. It all began in 2010. Sigh.

Circling back to "Twist", I hope that this book answered a few questions from "Sterling", as I hope the next book will answer even more questions. I haven't decided on a title yet, and part of that is due to the fact that I have this undisclosed plan about how I'm going about this. The question is whether to stick to that plan or break it. Now that book five may be coming along, it's made me wonder how far this series just might go. Because if I can manage to fit everything in book five, then that;s going to be a big problem.

Usually when I'm in my writing zone, I lock onto certain songs that capture the mood I'm setting and listen to these in the car or elsewhere when I'm thinking about certain scenes. You can check out my playlist (MUSIC CORNER) as I'll continue to add them. The playlist is pretty great because I think when you hear some of the songs, you can feel the story.

If you want to know about Little Red Corvette, then I'll tell you. I have no idea why, but whenever I hear that song I think of Justus. The lyrics (versus being sung about a woman) could be about him. I swear when it pops on the radio, I always laugh, thinking about Justus speeding down the road in one of his expensive cars playing that song. Windows up, of course, and all alone.

Perhaps he has a guilty pleasure of Prince songs that he'll never fess up to.

Apparently, I can't play it. Prince seems to be one of the most blocked artists on youtube to get a quality sound. But, you can leap on over to my MUSIC CORNER page and listen to it on the playlist. Maybe you'll find a new song or artist you haven't heard before.

I guess I should've known by the way
You parked your car sideways that it wouldn't last
See, you're the kinda person that believes in makin' out once
Love 'em and leave 'em fast
